Who has to register
All businesses register with the local KvK: Chamber of Commerce. The exceptions are:
- Sole traders in the agriculture and fishing sectors.
- Liberal professions for example doctors, civil notaries, artists.
- Partnerships.
- Public businesses - local government, hospitals, schools.
- Street traders who have no fixed establishment.
Chamber of Commerce - KvK
Once you have registered, you are given a unique eight-figure registration number. We can help register your company with the Chamber of Commerce. The KvK number should go on all company documents. A small annual charge is due to the KvK. The level of the contribution will mainly depend on the legal form and location of your business.
Registration and amendments to information relating to Besloten Vennootschaps are published in the official newspaper in Dutch at the company's expense. Once you have registered, it is your responsibility to ensure that the information is up to date and correct. Only the following persons are allowed to register a business or communicate changes to the register information:
- The owner.
- A partner.
- A manager.
- A proxy with a general power of attorney.
Public Information the Chamber of Commerce records:
- Trading name.
- The registered office.
- The legal form.
- A brief description of the business.
- The names and addresses of the owners, managers, supervisory board members or partners.
- The company share capital.
- Some details about employees.
